How do I search the database?

There are a number of criteria available to search by, including Facilities experience, location, salary requirements, qualifications and key skills. Once you submit your search criteria a shortlist of suitable Individuals will be compiled and a summary of each individuals non-confidential details can be viewed. Depending on the number of suitable Individual matches the system provides you with, the search can then either be narrowed down or widened as required.

How long does it take to run a search?

After you have filled in your search criteria, the search should take no longer than a few seconds. You may also track your previous or current searches to enable you to call up the same Individual details again or omit them from your next search.

How will I know that the Individuals details on my short list are up to date?

Individuals are encouraged to contact us when any of their details change to ensure that our database is current and up to date. Each summary information has a field to show when it was last updated.

How do I contact an Individual I wish to interview?

Simply select the Individual’s from the list, supply brief details of the vacancy you are recruiting for, and FMA Appointments will notify our administrator of your interest. FMA Appointments staff will then contact the Individual(s) you wish to interview giving them a brief description of the position being offered. The Individual will then have the opportunity to accept or decline the offer of an interview. If the Individual is happy to proceed with the interview they will be asked whether they consent to their details being released to you and FMA Appointments staff will contact you to arrange the interview on behalf of the Individual.

What happens to the responses to my advertisement?

Individuals interested in the positions advertised on the Vacancies database contact the companies direct. The terms of business a company accepts when placing an advertisement with FMA Appointments obligate the company to inform FMA Appointments if they are successful in sourcing someone for the role through the advertisement. Then a placement fee is applicable.

What does it cost to use FMA Appointments?

The cost involved for employers wishing to use the FMA Appointments system to search for Individuals is as follows:

• A monthly subscription fee of £100 for members of The Facilities Management Association (£200 for non-members) payable by credit card upon registration. This search fee is payable by only one branch of your Facilities business, however, the FMA Appointments system may be accessed by any of your offices providing they have a login and password.
• Should you wish to recruit an Individual that you have interviewed by an introduction from FMA Appointments, the fee for members of the FMA is 8% of the Individual's gross annual salary (10% for non-members of the FMA).
